CLAY ON DISPLAY

CLAY ON DISPLAY

I loosen my tight griping

Giving up the need to be in control of everything

I abandon my obviously shallow forced landing

To lean into your meticulous understanding

I release my stiff spine to arch as you knead me

Here I am yielding… to your push and pull

I under estimate how this can be in any way useful

My body finds it all strange and so far from fruitful

But as I take the shape you intend to give this vessel

May you find pleasure when your mortar hits the pestle

When I’m on display they’ll say I didn’t wrestle

But only you and I know, how much surrender it took

for me to look like something that came out of you.
